Hanna Wilson is a freelance trombonist based in Toronto. She performs regularly with ensembles all over the GTA, including Ontario Pops Orchestra, Orchestra Toronto, Etobicoke Philharmonic, Ontario Philharmonic, and the Untitled Ensemble.
Hanna is an enthusiastic brass pedagogue with over 20 students. She recently graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with a Master's in Instrumental Performance. Before her Master's, Hanna received her Bachelor of Music with a Minor in English from Mount Allison University. She is the recipient of many awards for both performance and academics. Most recently, she received the New Brunswick Arts Council Classical Music Scholarship, the Ina Mitton Prize for Excellence in Winds and Brass, and is the two-time winner of the prestigious Mary McKean Scholarship.
Hanna demonstrated her passion for research and writing through an Independent Student Research Grant. She was also the recipient of the coveted Canadian Graduate Scholarship (SSHRC).
When not rehearsing and teaching, Hanna can be found playing board games, reading with her cat, or knitting for friends and family.
